Basic licenses
Windsurfing
The internationally recognised WWS Basic Windsurfing License serves as proof of qualification and is helpful when renting windsurfing equipment — and mandatory at many watersport centres in Germany and abroad.
Training
Courses at WWS schools range from beginner to advanced and special techniques, divided by age, fitness and proficiency. The practical training gives you the skills to windsurf safely and return to your starting point.
The examination
Theory exam
The questionnaire covers materials studies, general legal studies, theory of sailing, safety, nature and the environment, and knots. An oral exam option is available, and the exam can be repeated.
Practical exam
Safe mastery of the key windsurfing manoeuvres is required, including returning to the starting point independently.
Your certificate
The WWS certificate of proficiency can be purchased at the end of the course directly from your school. On presentation of the certificate, you can additionally order the waterproof card from the WWS association in Germany — credit-card format, made for the water.
