Einstieg & Strand

Launch from the flat water beach with NE/N wind directions providing the most consistent conditions. The shallow, protected bay makes this ideal for beginners with predictable wind patterns.

Lokale Regeln

Respect local fishermen and swimming areas; coordinate with other kiters during peak windy days. Be aware of Japanese beach etiquette and obtain any necessary local permits before session.

Spot-Guide

Wind & Consistency

219 windy days a year isn't theoretical. November through May locks in NE and N winds; summer adds juice but brings typhoon risk. You're not reading thermal patterns or waiting for seabreezes—the shallow bay funnels wind predictably. Forecast before June-July sessions.

Why Beginners Come Here

Flat-water launch. Predictable gusts. A bay designed to keep you away from the reef zone beyond. You can focus on technique without environmental noise. Intermediate riders also use this for clean progression days when reef anxiety kills your session elsewhere.

Water Hazards

Okinawan waters have shallow reefs and rocky outcrops outside the bay. Stay inside the protected zone. Currents shift during tidal changes—time sessions around slack tide if you venture further. Visibility drops May through early June. The water's warm; that's the only mercy.

The Scene

Local spot, not touristy. You'll see regular Japanese progression riders and some expat-based kiters. No party vibe. People come to ride, eat, leave.

Logistics

Parking and facilities are functional. Restaurants nearby. It's reliable, not romantic.
