Lokale Tipps

Aruba's year-round consistent trade winds make it exceptionally reliable with 324 windy days annually. Check local conditions before sessions as choppy water demands respect for your ability level.

Einstieg & Strand

Launching is straightforward from the beach with consistent trade winds from the east/southeast. The choppy water conditions mean you'll experience regular chop; wade out carefully to avoid rocks and reef when launching.

Lokale Regeln

Keep clear of swimmers and other beach users; this is a popular recreational area. Follow local right-of-way rules and respect any designated zones for other water sports.

Was anziehen

Water temperature stays warm year-round (78-82°F), so a light 2-3mm rashguard or spring suit provides sun protection without excess bulk. No heavy wetsuit needed.

Spot-Guide

The Experience

Rodgers Beach is straightforward: you're launching into Atlantic chop with east/southeast trades that rarely quit. Sand beach, bars and rentals within walking distance. The work starts in the water.

Wind & Conditions

16 knots average, 324 windy days annually. The consistency is real—no light-wind days killing your session rhythm. Trade winds lock in from the east and southeast. Gusts are sharp; lose focus on bar control and your kite ends up in the reef.

Water & Hazards

Choppy as a baseline. Shallow reef and rocks near shore mean careful wading and deliberate launch lines. This isn't a walking-around-carelessly kind of beach. Rescue access is compromised in some zones. Rough water demands intermediate skills minimum. Beginners don't belong here.

Who This Is For

Intermediate riders with solid board control and bar awareness. Advanced kiters looking to train in real chop instead of flat water will appreciate the conditions. Beginners need a school elsewhere.

The Scene

Bars, rentals, shade. Not remote. You get functional infrastructure without resort frills. The tradeoff for Aruba's wind reliability: every session you're managing chop and navigating reef.
