Wind is consistent but light, so patience and good technique are essential—this spot rewards efficient bar control. Visit in the winter months (Dec–Feb) or shoulder seasons for slightly stronger and more reliable conditions.

South Hole Sound's flat, protected waters are ideal for beginners, but soft sand beach launches require good kite control due to light, shifty winds. Launch on the eastern shore where ENE/NE winds blow most consistently onshore.

Respect local fishermen and give boats clear passage; the sound is a working area. Stay aware of other water users and launch/land away from congested zones.

A 2-3mm rashguard or light wetsuit is sufficient year-round given the warm tropical climate; prioritize sun protection and quick-dry clothing.
