Lokale Tipps

Best conditions occur during the NE monsoon season (Dec-May) when winds are most consistent; check local conditions on Boracay before committing as tourist season affects water crowding.

Einstieg & Strand

Launch from Boracay's beach with careful attention to boat traffic; choppy conditions favor launching during strong NE to SW wind periods when water is most organized.

Lokale Regeln

Respect swimmers and tourists in this heavily visited area; stay aware of other water sports users and maintain distance from fishing boats operating near the island.

Was anziehen

A light 2-3mm wetsuit or rash guard is sufficient year-round due to tropical Philippine warmth; sun protection and reef booties highly recommended.

Spot-Guide

Wind & Conditions

Dec–May is prime. NE monsoon averages 16.8 knots with 289 windy days annually. That's consistency—but tropical squalls shift wind hard and fast. WSW and SW winds also show depending on the day. Read conditions fresh each morning; yesterday's forecast doesn't carry over.

The Water

Strong currents, shallow reefs, and rocks aren't background color—they're the main hazard. Ferry and fishing traffic is constant, not occasional. You need to know your launch and your exit. Chop stacks when the monsoon locks in. Fewer tourists means more usable water when you're actually here.

Who It's For

Intermediate minimum, and you need current awareness and reef navigation skills before you show up. This spot sharpens you; it doesn't teach you. Weak jibes or sketchy edge control? Spend time elsewhere first.

Getting On the Water

Launch from Boracay beach. Equipment rental, food, and lodging are 5 minutes away. Medical help exists in town. Boracay's tourist season controls crowd levels—check the day before you go. Time your sessions for NE-SW wind windows when chop organizes.
